Club History

Cleveland Canoe Club was founded in 2000 at the Teesside White Water Course. Len Smith was the main founding member who set up Cleveland Canoe Club. Originally the club was set up as a multi disciplinary canoe club and had successful slalom athletes and general recreational whitewater members.

The club has continued to focus on general paddle sports and has became well established in the area and local community. In 2015 we became and registered Charity Incorporated Organisation which demonstrated our links with the community and the development of paddle sports in the area. This has allowed us to access more grants and funding for projects.
